Background

BuildSafe South Africa is a non-profit organisation aimed at improving the health, safety and welfare conditions of all construction industry stakeholders through the free exchange and sharing of information between organisations working in South Africa.

Overview

The following functionality was requested by the client from the start:

• Bespoke design that needed to look corporate, clean and professional;
• Interactive and dynamic using the latest web 2.0 technologies including social networking interactivity;
• Easily updatable using a bespoke Content Management System (CMS) built and customised for this website only;
• Powerful enough to send email campaigns to all subscribed users using double opt in methods;
• Smart enough to detect and handle invalid email addresses so to avoid becoming blacklisted and regarded as spammers;

Technical

The website has been built using ASP.Net 3.5, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, jQuery and Javascript, CSS and HTML.
